Warehouse Relocation Service in Chattanooga, TN
Companies across the Chattanooga market keep trading older 16 to 24 ft buildings for new 32 to 45 ft space in Enterprise South, along I-75 and at Cloud Springs. The rack has to make that move too, and it has to fit the new building when it gets there.
Unlike general warehouse movers, we plan the move around the racking itself: what can be reused, what the new height allows, and how fast you can receive again.
What Our Warehouse Moving Services Cover
Six steps, one team, and a layout you sign off on before anything comes down.
Count the rack you own
We identify every frame, beam, deck and accessory, note style and capacity, and set aside damaged pieces that should not go back up.
Draw it into the new building
Your existing rack is laid out in CAD in the new space, with position counts, aisles and any new rack the plan needs.
Check fit against height and columns
We compare the new clear height, column grid, dock layout and any crane bays against your rack and trucks.
Tear down and tag
Crews take rack down row by row and tag components so they go back up in the right place at the right capacity.
Coordinate the trucks
Components are loaded so they arrive at the new dock in the order the install crew needs them.
Reinstall and add
Rack goes up to the new layout, anchored to the floor and capacity-labeled, with new frames or beams where the old stock falls short.
Moving From Older Buildings Into New Space
The typical Chattanooga move goes from an older steel or masonry building in South Chattanooga, Alton Park or along Lee Highway into a tilt-wall building in Enterprise South, toward Ooltewah and Cleveland, or at Cloud Springs in Ringgold.
Going from 18 ft to 36 ft clear changes the whole plan. Beams usually carry over, but frames often need to be taller. Some moves are a chance to switch systems, such as adding pushback for deep SKUs or pallet flow for a cold room.
Older plants with crane bays also leave behind rack that was cut to fit around the crane path. We check every row against the new layout before it is loaded on a truck.
Warehouse Movers vs. Warehouse Relocation Companies That Know Rack
Most warehouse moving companies are good at trucks, inventory and machinery. Rack is a different job: frames have to be identified, beams matched to capacity, and every bay rebuilt to a layout that fits the new clear height and lift trucks.
Many clients hire warehouse movers for inventory and us for the pallet racks, cantilever rack and shelving. We coordinate dates so the rack is standing before product arrives.
Timing the Move Around Heat, Storms and Shipping
Summers here are hot and humid, and most warehouses are not air-conditioned. We plan crew hours and staging around the heat. Spring brings severe-storm and tornado season, so we keep outdoor staging short and leave weather days in the schedule.
Every move is phased so shipping keeps going at one building while the other is set up. Moves to Dalton, Jasper and other towns in our service area follow the same plan.
