The oldest pallet is always at the pick face, which is why grocery and cold-storage operators rely on it. Food production and grocery distribution keep steady demand for cooler and freezer racking around Chattanooga, and pallet flow is often the first system those buildings consider. Pallet condition, lane pitch and speed control decide how the system runs. 1 ### Pallets Bottom boards should run in the direction of flow. We review your pallet spec first. 2 ### Speed control Brake rollers keep loaded pallets at a steady speed down the lane. 3 ### Pick-end separators Separators hold back the second pallet so the front one can be lifted cleanly. Pallet flow holds each SKU in its own lane and ships it in order. In freezers and coolers, every square foot is expensive. Flow lanes remove the aisle between load and pick faces down the depth of the lane. Components are specified for cold service. A new prepared-foods plant in LaFayette (https://chattanoogapalletrack.com/service-area/lafayette) shows how much cold-chain building is going on across the market. ## Pallet Flow Beside Drive-In and Selective Storage Racks Many cold rooms combine pallet flow for fast SKUs with drive-in rack (https://chattanoogapalletrack.com/products/drive-in-rack) for big batches and selective pallet rack (https://chattanoogapalletrack.com/products/pallet-rack) for slow movers.
